ERDM is a repeater operation regime at one frequency. This regime allows increasing coverage zone of direct connection by using one simplex frequency
Expanded Range Direct Mode – ERDM
Description
Key advantages
Operation principle
Receiving and transmission of the signal in ERDM regime are performed at one frequency by the repeater that transfers the signal on one time-slot and receives it at the other.
The radio initiates a signal transfer in direct mode and it can receive signals directly either from the repeater or from radion. At the moment of receiving the radio indicates the best signal. Direct communication mode continues operating and in the case of lack of repeater, the coverage doesn’t require an additional channel switch.
ERDM supports only one-site conventional operation mode. ERDM does not support the data at the “revert” channel, phone mode of the repeater, IPSC, Voting, digital-analog combined regime.
Functions
Lisences
To work in ERDM mode a license for the repeater is required.
